Rector of Togliatti State University: Mikhail Mikhailovich KRISHTAL, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, a holder of the titles: Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation and Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation.

Prof. Krishtal was born on June 15, 1969 inTula. In 2009, he was elected the Rector of Togliatti State University on an alternative basis for the first time. He was re-elected in 2014.

Under the guidance of Mr. Krishtal in 2017, TSU was granted the status of a flagship university, as well as the center for innovative and technological development of the region. Previously, TSU got four megagrants according to the RF Government Decrees of April 09, 2010: three according to № 220 (involvement of leading scientists) and one according to № 219 (development of the innovation infrastructure). TSU was granted the status of the Federal Innovation Platform twice: for the periods of 2012-2017 and 2018-2023. The university is a laureate of the Russian Federation Government Award in the field of quality in 2009 and is the award winner in 2017.
