Rector of Volga State University of Technology: Viktor Evgenevich SHEBASHEV.

Mr. Shebashev was born in Yoshkar-Ola in 1954. In 1977 he graduated from the Faculty of Machine Building of Mari Polytechnic Institute named after M. Gorky with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Metal-Cutting Machines and Tools and the qualification of Mechanic Engineer. In 1983 he defended his thesis for an academic degree of Candidate of Engineering Sciences in Descriptive Geometry and Graphics.

Mr. Shebashev is a holder of the title of Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation. He has been awarded the Letter of Acknowledgement of the President of the Russian Federation, the medal "For Contribution to the Development of Engineering Education in Russia."

Mr. Shebashev has been Vice Rector since 2002, First Vice Rector since 2005, and Rector since 2017.
