Acting Director of the Far-East Institute of Management, the Branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration: Anton Veniaminovich MERKULOV, Candidate of Historical Sciences (2001).

Mr. Merkulov was born on September 27, 1965. He graduated from the Oryol Military Command College of Communications of the Committee for State Security of the USSR named after M.I. Kalinin with a degree in Wire Electric and Radio Communications Operation Engineering in 1987.  In 2001 he completed his postgraduate degree at Moscow Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (by correspondence course) with a degree in National History and defended his Candidate's thesis on the theme: "New Political Thinking in Soviet foreign policy in 1985-1991."

A.V. Merkulov has the following state titles and awards: the medals "For Military Valor," "70 Years of the Armed Forces," "850 Years of Moscow" and three long service medals; certificates of acknowledgement from the senior managers of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee.
