NIZHNEVARTOVSK STATE UNIVERSITY

Rector: Sergey Ivanovich GORLOV, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Prof. Gorlov was born in Omsk in 1972. He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics of Omsk State University.

Mr. Gorlov started his professional career at the Research Institute of Information Technologies and Applied Mathematics. In 2007 he was elected as Rector. Sergey Ivanovich successfully combines Rector's duties with academic and research activities. He published a total of 88 academic and scientific papers. The primary research areas are the theoretical issues of continuum mechanics, modeling of wave activity. These were the themes of his Candidate’s thesis and his Doctor’s thesis defended in 2002.
