Prof. Demidov is a laureate of the award of the Government of Saint Petersburg for outstanding achievements in the field of higher and secondary vocational education, a laureate of the Russian Federation Government Award in Science and Technology, Chairman of the Interregional Non-Governmental Organization "Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region," Vice-President of the Russian Union of Rectors.

Prof. Demidov has the following awards and titles:

- Certificate of Honor of the Deputy Minister of the Education and Science of the Russian Federation,

- Certificate of Honor of the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of Saint Petersburg,

- an honorary title of Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation,

- the Order of I.P. Kulibin, and

- the Commemorative Medal "For the Contribution to the Development of the Information Society."
