Aleksandr V. KOLSANOV, Rector, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy with the innovative technologies course, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor.

Aleksandr Kolsanov was born in 1974. He graduated from Samara State Medical University with a degree in General Medicine. He has been loyal to his alma mater throughout all his career. He was one of masterminds of a new sector of economy of the Samara Region – innovative technologies in medicine. He is Head of the Coordination Council of the Innovative Territorial Cluster of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technologies of the Samara Region. His research interests include issues of surgery, morphology, transplantology, biotechnologies, information technologies in healthcare and medical education, managing a modern university in the sphere of education, science, innovations, medicine and technology.

He has published over 530 scientific papers including 35 study guides, 103 patents for inventions and utility models, computer program certificates.

Three Doctors and 15 Candidates of Sciences defended their theses under his guidance.

Prof. Kolsanov has the following state awards: a certificate of acknowledgement from the Committee on Health Protection of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, a three-time laureate of the Governor’s Award, a letter of gratitude from the Advanced Research Foundation, a certificate of acknowledgement from the Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation.
