The Department of Clinical Science of University of Bergen invites applications for the Full-time permanent position as Researcher. Candidates must have training from translational science, preferentially from cancer research. Documented experience from international collaborations using high throughput methods is required. The candidate will be responsible for generation and analyses of sequencing data, from both RNA and DNA. An integrated workflow will be established including both known tools and tools developed on demand when relevant. The researcher will take part in sample preparation, processing and final analysis of data. The researcher may also take a role in validation of genetic findings and in functional studies and treatment evaluation in preclinical model systems. A research stay abroad may become relevant during the period. Applicants must have a relevant Norwegian doctorate or corresponding qualifications, and be a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. The successful candidate will be teaching general and basic clinical skills within the fields of gynecology and obstetrics, and teach/supervise bachelor- master- and PhD-students at the department in medicine, nutrition and pharmacy as well as participate in other tasks at the department. Applicants should have substantial research leadership experience as well as experience in coordinating research activities and strategic research planning. The purpose of the position is the building of competence by means of further development of research work to the extent that a higher level than what is possible within an ordinary PhD program is reached. The Faculty of Medicine of University of Bergen invites applications for the PhD position (10 positions). Five (5) positions are open PhD-grants. They are intended for applicants with Masters’ degree education (or equivalent) relevant for research areas at the faculty. The positions are full-time (100 %) positions and the candidates will be appointed for a period of four (4) years or max 4 months after completed the PhD-degree, if this is achieved within a shorter time than four years. The positions include 25 % required duties such as teaching, exam work or supervision, depending on the demands at the department. Five (5) PhD-positions are intended for applicants that have participated in The Medical Student Research Program. In connection with these positions, candidates are employed on a quota basis, requiring applicants with a completed medical degree (cand.med.) or a Master`s degree in odontology (cand.odont.).
