Awards and achievements of the educational program. The program was top ranked in the framework of the annual project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia in 2013, 2014, 2015. The program underwent professional-public accreditation.

Teaching staff. The Faculty of General Medicine employs 393 teachers, 85% of them hold academic degrees and titles (87 Doctors of Sciences and 247 Candidates of Sciences), including one Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, two Honored Scientists of the Russian Federation, 15 Honored Doctors of the Russian Federation, six Honored Workers of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

University partners within the educational program. The faculty cooperates with the Ministries of Healthcare of the Samara, Penza, Ulyanovsk Regions and the Republic of Mari El. The faculty is also a member of the International Association for Medical Education in Europe. The faculty has bilateral agreements on cooperation with LinkopingUniversity (Sweden), the Medical Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Dusseldorf (Germany), GoceDelcev University of Stip (Macedonia), JeanMonnetUniversity (France), which enables students and teachers to take part in academic mobility programs.

Students’ and alumni’s achievements. Eight alumni of the faculty are holders of the national award of the Russian Federation, 14 alumni are holders of the RF Government award, 44 alumni are holders of the Governer’s award in the field of medicine. The alumni from the faculty made significant contributions into the development of medical science and practical healthcare on the national and global levels. Students of the faculty join research associations, take an active part in annual all-Russia olympiads, contests, students’ conferences hosted by higher education institutions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk and other cities in Russia and abroad. Students annually win in the UMNIK programs.

Facilities and resources. The university includes three educational institutions and five research institutes, the Training and Production Center of Simulating Education, the research and education Center of Evidence Based Medicine and the Center of Educational and Information Technologies with the laboratory of digital textbooks. The university library resources include over 600 thousand items, three internet-centers with the total capacity of 120 computer places, over 20 multimedia and computer classrooms. Students benefit from access to the university healthcare clinics that comprises 18 departments of the General Medicine Faculty. Non-resident students are accommodated in five comfortable dormitories. Students may join different sport clubs and do sports at well-equipped sports halls.

Opportunities for students. Students do their on-the-job placement at healthcare institutions of the Samara, Penza, and Ulyanovsk Regions. Students are often employed by these institutions after graduation. The bulk of the educational process is carried out at the University clinical institutions and at seven large clinical healthcare institutions.

Employment prospects. The general practitioner qualification enables students to undergo medical residency training in a variety of specializations.
