Programme presentation. At present large financial companies cannot do without their own research centres which carry out surveys to collect information. That is why this program is so popular. It aims at training experts in sociology and economics who are in demand in business, science and government institutions. The program has a concentration in Economic Social Science. The students of the program have an opportunity to continue education and become enrolled to the master degree programs.

Teaching staff. 21 Doctors of Sciences and 64 PhD degree holders train the program students. 24 instructors work at the Departments of Theoretical Social Science and Applied Social Science. Among them are such industry practitioners as V.V. Fedorov, Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Social Science, Director-General of the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre, one of the largest centres in Russia and A.N. Zubets, Head of the Department of Applied Social Science, Head of the RosgosstrakhCenter for Strategic Research.

Competitiveness of students. Quality of provision is ensured through cooperation with many West European HEIs, it is planned to cooperate with the Chinese HEIs and research centres. Students participate in the student exchange programs developed in cooperation with the partner HEIs: ParisDauphineUniversity, the University of Madrid, the University of Warsaw, the CorvinusUniversity (Budapest). Cooperation agreements on student exchange and joint degree programs with the TroyesUniversity (France) and the University of Potsdam (Germany) are under discussion. The Faculty cooperates with the grant providing organizations (Ebert Fund, DAAD and others).

Interaction with employers. Student competitiveness is enhanced by a wide choice of work placement programs developed by such graduate prospective employers as the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Rosgosstrakh insurance company, the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTsIOM), MITTEL MGU research agency, Marketing Research Agency, Nestle Russia, the Strategic Initiative Agency, Vlast magazine, Moscow Department of the Federal State Statistics Service, the Russian International Affairs Council, the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision, the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation, Russia Today television channel, Mir TV and Radio Company, the Moscow Department of the Federal Tax Service, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation, the National Energy Security Fund, the Centre of Political Information and others.
