Programme presentation. The area of training allows graduates to work as technologists in experimental, preparatory, cutting and sewing departments of design and research institutions; to conduct market research and advisory services in trade organizations and to establish their own production of various apparel. The main activity of future Bachelors is development of new methods for working out models of clothes, shoes, fancy goods and other products of consumer goods industry, rational technological processes of serial and individual production of high quality goods. The main objectives of a technologist are the following: to maintain stable quality of goods production in compliance with project documents; to develop and enhance the technology of production of various consumer goods; to ensure formation, update and technological preparation of production; to organize production of goods.

Departments are provided with up-to-date laboratory base including training laboratories of sewing, footwear and fur production, computer classes for automated design and technological processes modeling and laboratories for evaluation and investigation of the properties of materials of the consumer goods industry products.

Students take part in international programmes for exchange and interuniversity co-operation: internships and placement for work experience are conducted in Belorussia, Germany, Italy, France, China, Poland and Finland.

Teaching staff. At present, the Institute of Textile and Fashion has 7 Departments, a research laboratory for optimization of textile technologies and an educational centre of textile and clothes.

Among the teaching staff there are 4 Doctors and over 30 Candidates of Technical Sciences including Honoured Workers of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Interaction with employers. Students have work experience and then get jobs at such enterprises as JSC “BTK group”, JSC“MelonFashionGroup”, LLC“Euro-Moda”, LLC“Dema”, LLC“Style” JSC“RotFront”, LLC“Sobol” LLC“Evromekh”, LLC“Lena”, etc.

In order to expand professional horizons and maintain contacts with potential employers the teachers and students regularly attend professional exhibitions, gala-shows and contests.
