Achievements and awards. Students take an active part in WorldSkills Russia competitions in Future Skills competencies in the category of Operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (they won silver and bronze medals in 2019), in the large-scale quadcopter hackathon Copter Hack.

Teaching staff. The teachers have unique knowledge and skills in the field of transport and in the field of development of various complex engineering systems. Over 80% of teachers have academic degrees and scientific expertise in this training program.

Facilities and resources. The institute has specialized laboratories: transport logistics; simulation of transport processes; intelligent transport infrastructure; system analysis; unmanned aircraft systems of SUAI.

Research. The promising research areas include: development of transport virtual models for different means of transport, development of models for passenger flow simulation in multimodal transportation hubs.

Education. Information and communication technologies, business games, project and research teaching methods are used, student championships and international distance conferences are held, research projects with subsequent development of the team of designers are implemented.

Strategic partners. The Interurban Transport Agency of Saint-Petersburg Transport Committee, Northern Capital Gateway LLC (Pulkovo Airport), the development design office Elektroavtomatika named after P.A. Efimov, Copter Express (COEX) (Moscow), Innovative Integrated Systems, WorldSkills Russia, Techpribor, SIMETRA, AnyLogic company, AnyLogistics, CTM.

International projects and programs. International study placement and exchange under the First+ programs are implemented. Students undertake study placement and participate in summer schools at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Finland). Students have an opportunity to attend the author’s course of Professor Gerald Cockrell (Indiana State University, USA) (G. Cockrell. Practical project management: learning to manage the professional).
