KIMEP University offers Russian language courses for foreigners. Levels: Beginner – Advanced Application Process: Applicants will be placed in an appropriate level course based on the results of a placement exam. Level duration: 7 weeks Number of classes a week: 2 times a week, 3 academic hours each. Days: Mondays/ Thursdays or Tuesdays/ Fridays Time-slot: 6:50pm – 9:05pm Days and class time can be changed; both group and individual study is offered. Class size: 10-16 people. Students’ age: 16 years and up Exchange students The course length is 7 weeks (42 academic hours). There are 2 options for classes: • 2 classes a week, 3 academic hours each • 3 classes a week, 2 academic hours each Intensive language course This a 4 – 5 week long intensive language course worth 100 academic hours. 20-25 academic hours are covered each week. Face-to-face course This course lasts minimum 20 academic hour. KIMEP University invites international students from all over the world to complete an internship in higher education, entrepreneurship funding, financial development or Journalism/Public Relations. The Internships in Kazakhstan program is sponsored by the KU Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, in partnership with the Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation (GASF) and KIMEP University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The 8-week program will include an intensive Russian language course. In addition, students will complete a part-time, academic internship at a participating organization in Almaty. Students will earn 1-3 hours of academic credit for their internship experience through the University Career Center (LA&S 490 Internship Exploration), Global & International Studies (GIST 495 Global Internships) or through their academic department. In addition, students will receive up to six credit hours for successful completion of the Intensive Russian Language course offered through KIMEP University. This course will meet daily for the duration of the program. Preference will be given to juniors, seniors, and graduate students in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. At least 2 semesters of Russian language coursework or comparable proficiency is required. Participation in an international internship provides students with the benefits of both study abroad and real world professional work experience. Through immersion in a foreign professional environment, students will not only gain valuable Russian language skills, but also acquire the professional practices and intercultural knowledge essential for success in today's global business environment. Vancouver Island University offers the English Language & Culture Program (ELCP) that combines high quality English language instruction with a focus on developing listening and speaking skills. To complement the language learning in the classroom, students also gain understanding of the culture in Canada and on Vancouver Island through the recreational activities and daytrips, which are part of the Summer & Winter programming. Scholarships and grants

Vancouver Island University offers a number of scholarships for new international students at the undergraduate level. Students are considered for scholarships at the time of admission, based on their submitted transcripts and application supporting documents. The standard deadline for admission to most VIU programs is March 31st, and scholarship selections are determined 6 weeks after this closing date. A separate application for scholarships is not required, as students will be automatically considered if they meet the scholarship criteria. 1. VIU World-Wide Entrance Scholarships are provided to exceptional new long-term academic undergraduate student applicants (not one semester Education Abroad or Exchange students). They are awarded to up to 20 of the top applicants entering in the Fall semester based on entering grades from submitted transcripts. No application necessary. 2. British Columbia High School International Excellence Entrance Scholarship is provided to all International student applicants who have applied to attend VIU in their graduating year from a British Columbia High School with a Dogwood Certificate. Highest average in combined marks of English 12 (combined provincial and school mark), social Studies 11 and Math 11 (Principles or applications). Awarded as a tuition credit at Vancouver Island University in their second academic semester. No application necessary. 3. VIU International Undergraduate Regional Scholarships are awarded to International students applying for entry into the first year of an undergraduate academic program. The award is based upon the entered grades from submitted High School transcripts. No application is necessary. 4. British Columbia Offshore School Entrance Scholarship is awarded to all international student graduates from BC Offshore schools as a tuition credit at Vancouver Island University in their second academic semester. No application necessary.

The Department of Clinical Science of University of Bergen invites applications for the Full-time permanent position as Researcher. Candidates must have training from translational science, preferentially from cancer research. Documented experience from international collaborations using high throughput methods is required. The candidate will be responsible for generation and analyses of sequencing data, from both RNA and DNA. An integrated workflow will be established including both known tools and tools developed on demand when relevant. The researcher will take part in sample preparation, processing and final analysis of data. The researcher may also take a role in validation of genetic findings and in functional studies and treatment evaluation in preclinical model systems. A research stay abroad may become relevant during the period. Candidates must hold a relevant Norwegian PhD or equivalent doctoral degree within areas of molecular biology or genetics; experience in analyses of “high-throughput” sequencing data, counseling, teaching, writing manuscripts and preferentially also grant applications; have personal skills, including abilities to work independently and cooperate within a research group; be motivated and responsible, and also have a great work capacity and enthusiasm for research; be fluent in written and oral English and Norwegian; experience with international collaboration is an advantage. Candidates must have a Master's degree or the equivalent within biogeography, ecology, or related fields relevant to the PhD project, or must have submitted his/her master's thesis for assessment prior to the application deadline. It is a condition of employment that the master's degree has been awarded. The successful candidate should feel comfortable adopting multi-disciplinary approaches between macroecology/biogeography and palaeoecology, enjoy the challenge of working with large data-sets, and have strong interest in understanding patterns of ecological and human processes in mountains on short and long time scales, must be able to work independently and in a structured manner, and have the ability to cooperate with others within HOPE’s consortium as well as within the EECRG, and to follow through challenging ideas, have pro-active problem-solving skills will be highly valued in the candidate, proficiency in both written and oral English. The successful candidate must have knowledge and experience of quantitative analyses of ecological or palaeoecological data (preferably using the statistical software R), as well as documented skills in one or more research fields relevant to the position; experience with large databases and some experience with geospatial analysis software, such as in ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS or R.
