Achievements and awards. Since 2016 this educational program has been recognized as the best as part of the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.

Teaching staff. Bachelor students are trained in the Precious Gems and Metals Processing Technology major and the Material Arts major by the highly qualified teaching staff including two Professors, four Associate Professors, three Senior Teachers, three Assistants. Leading specialists in the field of art and jewelry production are also engaged in the teaching process. The scientific school under the direction of L.T. Zhukova is listed on the Register of leading scientific and academic schools of the Committee for Science and Higher Education of Saint Petersburg.

Facilities and resources. The laboratories are equipped with computers and state-of-the-art software under the licensing agreement with the Delta Camshaft company (USA).

Research. The main research areas include the following: creation of design objects using state-of-the-art materials processing technologies; jewelry design development using information technologies; creation of flash exposure objects using modern techniques of applied arts and computer technologies.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with the Bezar Engineering Center, the Lasertech joint venture company, the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the Arina jewelry company, Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, the Russian Gemstones jewelry factory, the Kaholong Jewelry House, the AgAu parlor, and other organizations.

International projects and programs. The university cooperates with the AgAu jewelry design parlor under the supervision of the Siska Design company (Sweden) in the field of academic and scientific mobility development. The university annually organizes and hosts the International congress “Design. Materials. Technology.”

Competitive advantages. Students participate in and win contests, exhibitions, international and all-Russian olympiads and win the grants of the Russian Federation President and the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of Saint Petersburg.
