VORONEZH STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER N.N. BURDENKO

Rector of Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko (VSMU named after N.N. Burdenko): Igor Eduardovich ESAULENKO, a holder of Habilitation degree in Medicine, Professor, a holder of the titles of Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Excellent Worker of Public Health of the Russian Federation.

Prof. Esaulenko was born in 1956 in Zhigulevsk of the Kuybyshev Region. He graduated with honors from Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko with a degree in General Medicine and started his professional career at his alma mater. He has been Rector of VSMU named after N.N. Burdenko since 2000. His research interests include the issues of hominal physiology, environmental health and safety, optimization of higher medical education, informatization of healthcare management, and others.

Prof. Esaulenko is the author of more than 500 scientific papers including 19 monographs, eight textbooks and study guides, Academician of the RussianAcademy of Natural Sciences, an honorary member of the Presidium of the Medical Academy of Poland, an honorary citizen of Voronezh. He has been awarded the Medal of Merit for National Healthcare.
