Zhanna K. LEONOVA, Rector of the State University of Humanities and Social Studies,

PhD Habil. in Economics, Associate Professor.

Zhanna Leonova was born in 1968 in Kolomna and graduated from the Faculty of History at the Kolomna State Pedagogical Institute in 1991. She worked as a teacher of history, social studies and economics from 1990 to 2000, was a member of the Kolomna Council of Deputies from 1997 to 2001, defended a PhD thesis at Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2005 and a PhD Habil thesis in 2013. She served as First Vice-Rector of the State University of Humanities and Social Studies from 2014 to 2019.

Zhanna Leonova has been the Rector of the State University of Humanities and Social Studies since 2019.

Her research interests are related to the economics of the public sector and education economics in particular. She has over 120 publications including 15 academic papers and seven monographs.

Zhanna Leonova is a member of:  the Attestation Commission of the Moscow Region Ministry of Education; the Moscow Region Teachers Association; and the Public Council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kolomna city district.

Zhanna Leonova is a holder of numerous honorary awards and titles.
