A number of leading Russian medical universities will open their faculties and branches in Uzbekistan

The branch of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University will be opened in Uzbekistan in the 2019/2020 academic year.

The press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan reported that the opening of the branch was discussed at the meeting of the Health Ministers of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov and Russia Veronika Skvortsova in Tashkent, March, 6.

In addition, three joint faculties of Russian and Uzbek medical universities will be opened in the new academic year, namely:

•    an international faculty with Pediatric Medicine and General Medicine areas of St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University based at the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute (TashPMI);

•    faculty with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia on the basis of the Tashkent State Dental Institute, field of study "Dermatovenereology" designed for training clinical residents;

•    Faculty with the Orenburg State Medical University on the basis of the Tashkent State Dental Institute, fields of study «General Medicine» и «Clinical Psychology»;

•    international faculty with St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University on the basis of TashPMI's Nukus Branch in six areas of clinical internship: «Obstetrics and Gynecology», «Pediatric Surgery», «Traumatology», «Pediatrics», «Dentistry» и «Oncology».

Delegation members also visited specialized scientific and practical medical centers, private clinics, institutions providing primary medical care, medical higher educational institutions.
