Omsk State Medical University

Omsk State Medical University is one of the oldest universities in Siberia. The university trains highly qualified healthcare personnel. To manage the learning process, the university uses 85 facilities at the leading medical and preventive treatment institutions in the city of
Omsk and the Omsk Region, which are fitted with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.

Among the most popular programs are:

• Dentistry. Classes are conducted in Russian only.
• General Medicine. The program is taught in English and Russian. Classes are conducted in English with indepth study of the Russian language for communication with patients during clinical practice.

Russian is taught by experienced and highly qualified RFL teachers. Classes in Russian as a foreign language give essential basic knowledge of grammar for necessary communication. In combination with language practice, this provides our students with the opportunity to comfortably and quickly master the language.

Arrival and adaptation

• Upon arrival, foreign citizens are met by the Dean’s Office staff speaking foreign languages, which improves communication.
• Health insurance policies are issued on the following day by the insurance company cooperating with the university.
• All required documents are executed and medical examinations and fingerprinting are done within two or three working weeks.
• Omsk State Medical University offers various adaptation programs with the participation of both teachers and Russian-speaking students. This makes integration into the learning process and student environment as comfortable as possible.
• Students check in at the dormitory on the day of their arrival. Foreigners are accommodated in dormitory № 1 located near the educational buildings.
• Omsk is a modern city with well-developed infrastructure that attracts a great number of international students from all over the world.
