Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University is a rapidly developing university with more than a half century of history. It is the largest university in the Komi Republic and provides all levels of professional and continuing education. The university has an advanced infrastructure for science and innovation based on the interaction with industrial and academic science, business community, and public and local authorities.

We recommend that applicants, who do not speak Russian, take a language course first at the Preparatory Department. While studying, you will have the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the university, teachers and students.
Every year the Preparatory Department of Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University offers foundation programs to prepare students for further study in Russian. Students study Russian and major subjects depending on the chosen academic program.

Students studying within the quota get a monthly scholarship.
Internships and employment
Students can work while studying. The university also has the Career Development Center that provides employment assistance to students.
Students undertake their internships and work placements at the top enterprises in the Komi Republic. Students can participate in the development of projects and startups. In 2023, for example, the university implemented the acceleration program to support project teams and student initiatives to develop innovative products, “Digital Consolidation Youth Accelerator,” that resulted in 70 student startups.
