Nizhnevartovsk State University is a large regional research and development center focusing on the needs of the region’s real economy. NVSU conducts research on information technologies, ecology and rational nature management, physiology, energy conservation, economics, architecture, cartography, and geoinformatics.
Being a member of the world-class West-Siberian interregional research and education center, NVSU develops research projects in the following areas: human, animal and plant biosecurity; the Arctic: the cold world resources and the quality of the environment, humans in the Arctic; individualization in education.
NVSU is a member of the Nedra University Consortium uniting more than 50 Russian engineering universities (scientific and academic and methodological cooperation; development and implementation of joint educational programs) as well as a member of international associations (the University of the Arctic, the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Technical Universities, the International Association for Continuing Education).
