Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020.

Awards and achievements. Teachers and students take part in regional and all-Russian WorldSkills championships. PhD students at the department regularly win the All-Russian contest of scientific projects of PhD students, young researchers and candidates for
conducting R&D in information security for digital economy (“Information Security Grants from Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics”). The department students and PhD students were prize-winners of the UMNIK contest supported by the
Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology in 2018-2021, as well as prize-winners of artificial intelligence hackathons as part of the national program “Digital Economy.”

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 89 teachers. Over 80% hold academic degrees of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences. The university develops academic staff mobility.

Facilities and resources. Classrooms are fitted with state-of-the-art multimedia equipment, computers with internet access and required software, access to the electronic information and educational environment of NCFU.

Education. The main principles of the educational process management are the use of state-of-the-art teaching methods and strategies, an individual approach to students; development of students’ competencies through project activities, a combination of offline
learning with the independent study on the NCFU’s distance platform, a combination of theoretical instruction with practical activities and internships at educational organizations.

Research. Research is conducted as part of the research area “Artificial intelligence methods in cybersecurity.” The research findings are regularly presented at research conferences at different levels, in the papers included in the list of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as in the journals cited in Scopus and WOS.

Competitive advantages. Students have an opportunity to obtain an in-demand qualification in information security, which will help them find a job at institutions of any level both in Russian and worldwide. Possible positions for graduates are network security specialist;
engineering safety specialist; information protection systems design specialist; cyber investigator; software support engineer, and others. NCFU develops the continuing pedagogical education system, delivers continuing professional education programs.
