Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.
Awards and achievements. Students are winners and laureates of all-Russian research and creative contests (“Student Leaders of the Aerospace Industry of Russia”).
Teaching staff. The educational process involves five Doctors of Sciences, four Professors, 20 Candidates of Sciences, well-known specialists in traffic control and navigation systems, maintenance of aircraft and rocket and space equipment, aircraft flight control systems.
At least 5% of SUAI’s academic staff engaged in the teaching process are heads or employees of other organizations involved in labor activities in the professional sphere relevant to the professional activity the graduates prepare for.
Facilities and resources. All classrooms are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment such as personal computers, projectors, information stands as well as study materials. The content of each academic discipline (course, module) is available on SPb SUAI website. All students have access to the university’s library collections.
Education. Over the years, the department has been supervising some contracts for employer-sponsored training of specialists on requests of a number of top Russian enterprises and state authorities.
Teachers use diverse active teaching methods such as seminars and practical classes, case study, roundtable discussions, problem-based discussions, employers’ master classes on current issues. Students undergo practical training at real enterprises and use the
experienced gained for writing course papers and graduation theses.
Competitive advantages. Highly qualified teaching staff, a high level of applicants and graduates’ competence, research areas relevant to the major of the educational program, practice-oriented training.
Employers and employment. Graduate employers are top aerospace systems enterprises located in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, including Rossiya Airlines, UEC Klimov, the Arsenal design office, 218 Aircraft Repair Plant, 20 Aircraft Repair Plant.
