Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.

Awards and achievements. Every year students get scholarships from the Russian President and the Russian Government and win the all-Russian contests for students of aviation universities.

Teaching staff. The teaching staff includes 30 employees who teach and educate students. 53.3% of the teaching staff hold a title of Candidate of Science, 16.5% of the teachers hold a title of Professor. Fifteen percent of the department staff have more than five years’ work experience in the field of operation and maintenance, reconditioning and repair of aircraft and radioelectronic equipment of state and civil aircraft.

Facilities and resources. The instrumentation equipment in the department laboratories includes some unique devices and systems such as the educational and research facility of the characteristics of the MEMS elements orientation module, the set of laboratory classes on Engineering Diagnostics, laser, fiber-optic and micromechanical gyroscopes, wind channel, and receivers of global satellite navigation systems GPS and GLONASS.

Education. Modern models and technologies based on the wide use of computer equipment, audiovisual and other teaching aids are used in the educational process. Over the years, the department has been supervising some contracts for employer sponsored training of specialists on requests of a number of top Russian enterprises and state authorities.

Competitive advantages. Highly qualified teaching staff, a high level of applicants and graduates’ competence, research areas relevant to the major of the educational program, practice-oriented training. Graduates are well trained in the field of operation and maintenance of civil aircraft equipment. They are in demand at the aircraft equipment maintenance and overhaul enterprises.

Employers and employment. Graduates are employed by the top aerospace systems enterprises located in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, including UEC Klimov, Ramenskoye Instrument-Making Design Bureau, Arsenal design bureau named after M.V.Frunze, Rossiya Airlines, 218 Aircraft Repair Plant.
