Accreditation. State accreditation.

Awards and achievements. For years, the program has been recognized as the best educational program of innovative Russia. Students are winners of regional science and technology conferences for young specialists of Samotlorneftegaz, prize-winners of the contests held as part of the Russian Energy Week International Forum, holders of personal scholarships from Nizhnevartovskaya SDPP and Samotlorneftegaz, a regional branch of Rosneft Oil Company.

Teaching staff. The department teachers are specialists in electric power engineering and electrical engineering, heat power engineering and heat engineering. Representatives of the real sector of the economy such as employees of Samotlorneftegaz, the federal autonomous institution Glavgosekspertiza, Varieganneftegaz, Nizhnevartovsk Electric Networks of Rosseti Tyumen, and other partner enterprises, which are the industry leaders, are engaged in the educational process.

Facilities and resources. The department uses specialized laboratories for laboratory and practical classes: electric engineering and electronics, electric power engineering and energy conservation, electromechanics and electrical devices, heat power engineering and heat engineering. Students have classes in the electrical equipment installation and setup workshop, the workshop of the Department for Power Engineering. Students undergo training at ranges and simulation training centers of industrial enterprises such as Samotlorneftegaz, Rosneft Oil Company, Nizhnevartovskaya SDPP (INTER RAO – Electric Power Plants), Nizhnevartovsk Electric Networks of Rosseti Tyumen.

Research. Study of stability of electric power engineering systems and electrical equipment diagnosis; reliability issues of the oilfield electricity supply system, the energy resource saving system, simulation of overpressure in oilfield electric networks.

Competitive advantages. An effective combination of theory classes with the acquisition of practical skills in operating real electric power engineering equipment of oil and gas production enterprises, electric power plants and networks allows graduates to become sought-after specialists in the job market.

Employers and employment. There are specialized departments established at major enterprises in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area—Yugra such as Samotlorneftegaz, a regional branch of Rosneft Oil Company; Nizhnevartovskaya SDPP (INTER RAO – Electric Power Plants), Nizhnevartovsk Electric Networks of Rosseti Tyumen.
