Achievements. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020. The grant from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research ("PhD Students") "Prediction of the spread of carbonate basins of the Neftekumsk natural reservoir with the purpose of further exploration of prospective targets in the territory of the Eastern Stavropol Territory."

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by nine teachers, including one Doctor of Sciences, five Candidates of Sciences, and three Assistant Professors.

Facilities and resources. The learning laboratory of petrography and lithology, The learning laboratory of Ciscaucasia's petroleum field geology.

Research is conducted within the area "Evaluation of oil and gas content and modeling of natural hydrocarbon systems." Researchers take part in international and all-Russian research and practice conferences, contests, forums. The research findings are published in Russian and international periodicals.

Education. Teachers use Information and communication technologies, project methods of teaching, game and simulation technologies, distance learning technology, etc.

During their studies, students acquire the following professional competencies: capacities for self-enhancement and professional development, readiness to use methods, techniques and tools of prospecting, exploration and development of oil, gas and liquid gas fields, an ability to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills for geological reasoning of efficient use of oil, gas and liquid gas fields.

VolgogradNIPINeft, Stavropol Underground Gas Storage Department, a branch of Gazprom UGS, North-Caucasus Research and Design Institute of Natural Gases, Gazprom transgaz Stavropol, Gazprom dobycha Krasnodar, Stavropol Department of Emergency Response and Restoration Operations and Well Workover, a branch of Gazprom UGS.
