Awards and achievements. Students win at the International Exhibitions of Innovations Hi-Tech, the all-Russian contest held in cooperation with the university’s partners in the Efficient Design Competency, in the interuniversity hackathon “Electric Laboratory. Electrical Measurement and Electrical Safety.”

Teaching staff. Eighty percent of the teaching staff hold academic degrees, including three Doctors of Engineering Sciences and 14 Candidates of Engineering Sciences. Seven teachers work for specialized organizations. All teachers carry out research, teaching and guiding and practical activities relevant to the field of study and are awarded for the contribution to science and pedagogy.

Facilities and resources include multimedia classrooms, a computer classroom, laboratories of electric power engineering, industrial robotics, electrical machines, electric drive, electromechanical converters, electric devices. These laboratories are fitted with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment that allows students to acquire up-to-date practical skills to the full extent.

Education. The educational process mostly focuses on practical training. To master most disciplines, students do practical and laboratory work and course papers that allow students to apply the acquired knowledge in real projects. Bachelors learn how to design and set up electric equipment, electrical systems and networks as well as prepare documentation for their operation. Master’s students conduct research in power engineering, publish research papers and participate in science and technology conferences.

Research. High integrity networks engineering, the use of artificial intelligence in electric power engineering, cyberphysical systems in electric power engineering, digital power engineering, digital twins and additive technologies in electric power engineering. The research findings are presented in research papers published in the journals indexed in the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles and Russian Science Citation Index and at research conferences.

Competitive advantages. The program is supported by the specialized laboratories of SUAI Engineering School: the laboratory of electric power engineering and the SUAI-Power Machines student design office. Students can take part in the Power Engineering Club and the SUAI Accelerator activities with immediate support from Gazprom Neft as well as undertake industrial work placements and pre-graduation internships at the partner enterprises of the Engineering Education consortium.

Employers and employment. The employers are the top electric power engineering companies such as Rosseti Lenenergo, Power Machines, Gazprom neft, Research and Production Enterprise Mars-Energo, ELEMGROUP, Unicum Motors, Machine Building Plant Arsenal, Efremov Scientific Research Institute of Electrophysical Apparatus; Central Research Institute of Naval Electrical Engineering and Technology, a branch of Krylov State Research Center.
