Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.

Awards and achievements. Students are the winners and laureates of all-Russian research and creative contests and holders of the Russian Government scholarship for active participation in socially significant events. Bachelor’s students take an active part in the WorldSkills championships in the FutureSkills competencies in the 5G and Next-Generation Radio Engineering category and are the winners and prize-winners of the championships in 2019- 2022.

Teaching staff. Ninety-two percent of the degree-granting department’s teaching staff hold academic degrees of Candidate or Doctor of Engineering Sciences. Among the teachers are Honored Workers of Higher Education. All teachers at the department participate in research relevant to the majors of the educational programs.

Facilities and resources. The department classrooms are fitted with multimedia equipment for giving lectures. Specialized laboratories – the laboratory of digital signal processing and digital circuit engineering, the laboratory of analogous circuit engineering and radio receiving equipment, the laboratory of radio engineering systems, and a computer classroom – are fitted with state-of-the-art latest-generation computing and control and measuring equipment, mock-up models and specialized laboratory benches. In 2022, the department established two new laboratories: anechoic chamber designed for a wide range of antenna measurements in the frequency band of up to 50 GHz and the training and production laboratory fitted with the equipment for implementing the full-cycle of radio engineering devices manufacturing on circuit boards.

Education. Both Bachelor’s and Master’s students pursue full-time and extramural studies. The practical part of the program provides for familiarization with the equipment and software used at the top radio engineering enterprises.

Research. The research areas are radar data processing algorithms, image processing and classification images, radiolocation of low-level targets, UAV radio engineering systems, radio navigation systems, digital communication and 5G radio engineering, and others.

Competitive advantages. The content of the educational programs is based on the current professional standards, which allows the department to train competent specialists having solid academic and research background in the field of radio engineering systems.

Employers and employment. The rate of graduates employed in their degree field is 98%. Among the employer enterprises are Research Institute of Systems Engineering (Leninets), All-Russian Research Institute of Radio Equipment, Granit Central Research Institute, KONTUR-NIIRS, Peleng, Russian Institute of Radionavigation and Time, Russian Institute for Power Radioengineering, and others.
