Achievements and awards. Robotics is a profession of the XXI century! In order to implement the educational robotics development concept, Industrial University of Tyumen has been providing training for Bachelor students in the new Robotics and Flexible Workcells major of the Technological Machines and Equipment  program since 2016 in cooperation with the ProjectLab Center of Robotics and Automation Control Systems established at the Tyumen Technopark.

Teaching staff. The program is implemented by 35 teachers including six Doctors of Sciences and 22 Candidates of Sciences. Five teachers are winners of the All-Russian contest "The Engineer of the Year" in the following categories: Quality Management; MachineBuilding; Engineering Skill of the Youth. The specialists of enterprises, namely the Head of the Design Office of Tyumen Engine Builders (Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor) and Director of the WILO RUS pump manufacturer (Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor) are engaged in the educational process.

Facilities and resources. Training is provided using unique equipment in the industrial robotics laboratories which comprise the park of industrial robots manufactured by the most advanced firms in this field (KUKA, FANUC). The computer-aided design systems laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art computer technology with required licensed CAD software (SolidWorks, Compass 3d, Autodesk Inventor). The machinery production equipment laboratories are equipped with a huge, by university standards, machine pool that allows students and teachers to carry out the work simulating all present-day production operations.

Research. The university established the scientific school (founded by E.V. Artamonov, Doctor of Engineering Sciences) that includes five promising areas that are of substantial importance for national development. The teachers of the department annually participate in the contests of grant support for promising areas of Russian industry. The articles that include research findings are published in peer-reviewed journals of international citation bases such as Web of Science and Scopus.

In 2018 the department staff published about ten articles in peer-reviewed journals recommended by the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, ten articles in Web of Science and Scopus, 15 patents for inventions and utility models.

Education. The teachers use state-of-the-art educational technologies: integrated learning, critical thinking development, game, project, module, quest, case, and workshop technologies.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with key machine-building enterprises such as the Tyumen Engine Builders company;  GMS Neftemash, an oil equipment supplier; Sibneftemash, an oil and gas equipment supplier; Tyumen Machinery and Repair Plant, etc.

Competitive advantages. The university provides background knowledge. It boasts highly qualified teaching staff and unique equipment.
