NSMU is the only medical university in the European Russian Arctic that combines fundamental training, practice-oriented training, and research.
NSMU trains specialists in public health and pharmacy, as well as in psychology, social work, adapted physical education, economics, and management. The most popular programs are General Medicine and Dentistry. International students can apply for the six-year General Medicine program taught in English.
NSMU has over 30 years of experience of educating international students. Today, the university enrolls students from India, Pakistan, Thailand, Cameroon, Namibia, Canada, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Estonia.
NSMU has 27 clinical facilities and modern infrastructure for practical training, including the Institute for Simulation and Accreditation Technologies. The university's research areas include Arctic medicine, public health, clinical medicine, and other areas of medical science.
In 2026, NSMU took first place in the National Ranking of Graduate Employment in the field of Fundamental Medicine.
