The university is a flagship of medical and pharmaceutical science and education of the Republic of Bashkortostan and holds leading positions in Russia by multiple criteria.
The university administration headed by the Rector contributes to the development of cooperation with China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan and strengthens cooperation with the top German universities. Today BSMU students, teachers and doctors are integrated into the international practice, and the university scientists conduct joint research on current medical topics. More than 15,000 students and more than 2,800 residents from all over Russia, the CIS countries, and other foreign countries are studying at the university at the moment. The uniqueness of BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia consists in the university’s clinic where the treatment, scientific and learning processes are delivered in their inseparable unity.
While studying, students work in computer classrooms, use video equipment, and conduct animal experiments. Emphasis is placed on acquisition of practical skills by students, and that is why the leading clinical departments are located at the city’s large medical institutions fitted with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. All departments have student scientific circles. The members of the student scientific society win prizes in student conferences of Russian universities. One of the campus buildings comprises a health care center for students and teachers. The main concept of the learning process is the creation of an intelligent environment by planning and preparation of graduates capable of reproducing, developing and providing high-quality multi-level medical care and ensuring the healthcare system development.
