Awards and achievements of the educational program. In 2014 this program was recognized as one of the best programs within the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia. It successfully underwent accreditation in the same year. The department was awarded the Gold Department of Russia diploma by the RussianAcademy of Natural History.

CONTROL IN ENGINEERING SYSTEMS - Bachelor’s program

Teaching staff. The teaching staff are represented by experienced teachers including four Doctors of Sciences and 25 Candidates of Sciences. Many of them have the Government awards, participate in and win methodological and professional contests.

University partners within the educational program. The Arsenal+ IT company, the Tyumen Pribor automation company; the Sibnefteavtomatika flow-metering equipment manufacturer; the ASU Tehnologia design and installation company; the Transneft Siberia oil transportation company; the ViraRealtime automation company; foreign automation companies: National Instruments (USA), Festo (Germany), Valmet Automation (Finland).

Students’ achievements. Students do active research, participate in research conferences, olympiads: the International Olympiad in Basics of Control Automation in Engineering Systems at State Petroleum Technical University (Ufa) in 2017 (the third place in the team event, the first place in the individual event); the Interuniversity Student Olympiad “Intelligence 2016,” the workshop of Information Science and Programming Group A (the first place); the Prime Time Open Collegiate Programming Team Event at South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk) in 2016 (the second place); the 20th Ural Collegiate Programming Championship in Yekaterinburg (the third place), the professional skill competition in Kurgan (the first place).

Facilities and resources. Students can benefit from 14 student associations, over 100 studios, clubs and on-stage performance groups, 32 specialized sports clubs, 13 comfortable dormitories. The degree-granting department has laboratories of metrology, electronics and microcircuitry, control theory, multimedia and intellectual systems, IT, SCADA-systems, a CAD-system.

There is a simulator automation center. The classes are given in a multimedia format, using demonstration stands, virtual laboratory works, a state-of-the-art software suite.

Opportunities for students. Students undertake their internship at oil and gas leading enterprises: Gazprom, NK Rosneft, SIBUR Holding, LUKOIL, Transneft Siberia, and others with further employment prospects. The employment rate is 97%. Alumni can pursue a Master’s degree or postgraduate studies.

Students participate in festivals that unite all generations of alumni: NEFTE-PARTY, the Debut of the First-Year Student, the Miss and Mister Neftegaz contests, and others.

Employment prospects. Design engineer, programming engineer, process control system engineer, metrologist.
