HEI’s image. The HEI delivers training of highly qualified veterinarians in compliance with the modern needs of the society and world standards through the development of harmonious personality with high social responsibility.
Programme presentation. The educational activity in this field has been carried out since 1939; since then more than 9,000 graduates have obtained their diplomas. Material and technical facilities are represented by academic and laboratory buildings, research and diagnostics and medical-veterinarian centre with modern equipment, vivarium, sports complex “Kolos” and a dormitory for 600 places. There are 8 research areas within Postgraduate and 3 areas within Doctorate programmes. In 2014, the basic study programme underwent the state accreditation and international public accreditation by the National Centre for Public Accreditation.
Teaching staff. There are 49 members of the teaching staff including 18 Doctors and 31 Candidates of Sciences. The Faculty has four research schools and the Dissertation council D 220.062.02. Every year teachers from leading foreign HEIs in the given area are invited as visiting lecturers.
Competitiveness of students. At present, 16 students in “Veterinary” are holders of personal grants. More than 80% of students are involved in research work at the Faculty. Many of them are winners and prize winners of international, national and regional con-tests including the contests for best research work among students, postgraduates and young researchers of the HEIs of the Ministry of Agriculture in the nominations “Veterinary Sciences” and “Biological Sciences”, grants and medals of the exhibition of Scientific and Technical Creativity of Youth, programmes U.M.N.I.K and START. For many years academic mobility programmes have been delivered, e.g. Erasmus Mundus Partnership Action 2, APOLLO, LOGO.
Interaction with employers. Every year the basic study programme is proved to be consistent with the major regional employers in the agricultural industry. Within the agreements on cooperation with partner enterprises the Faculty conducts joint on-the-job training of students involving leading
