Programme presentation. The academic process is based on a practice oriented approach and application of inclusive education, which is integrated with the study programmes of the world leading producers of hardware and software.

The infrastructure of VRSUS and DIES Department is represented by the up-to-date lab-oratories of network technologies, programming, information technologies and software engineering. VRSUS uses e-learning technologies (particularly the Moodle software environment). The university is completing the process of developing an academic complex for the implementation of the teaching staff’s results and engineering developments in the study programmes.

Russian partners of DIES Department are DonStateTechnicalUniversity, Povolzhskiy State University of Telecommunications and Informatics, Finance and TechnologyAcademy. The cooperation with Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (Belarus) is in progress as well.

Teaching staff. Over 70% of VRSUS teaching staff has scientific degrees and titles. In 2013, two lecturers completed the training in Cisco Academy Training Center (CATC) with the right to train courses in CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration. Every year academic internships are organized in Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.

Interaction with the employers. The list of DIES permanent partners includes Cisco Systems Company, D-Link, NetCracker Tec., IBM, LLC “Volzhskiy Machine Building Plant”; resident companies of Special Economic Zone “Togliatti” and “ZhiguliValley” Technopark in the sphere of high technologies. The students study a number of specialized courses in Technopark’s laboratories and have practice in its resident companies.

CiscoNetworkAcademy successfully works on the basis of DIES Department. DIES Department cooperates with Microsoft Company on developing study programmes of the Cloud Technology. The Department also houses the Academic Centre “Infocommunication Systems Control” of NetCracker Tec. Company for senior students followed by the opportunity of employing.

In 2014, DIES Department together with the major IT-organizations of the region cared out the first forum in the sphere of information technologies “Make_IT#” with a participation of more than 800 specialists.
