Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020. In 2017, the program underwent professional-public accreditation (the National Center for Public Accreditation) for six years.

Awards and achievements. The Russian Government Scholarships. The Mashuk NorthCaucasus Youth Forum grants. The grants from the UMNIK Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology. The Vladimir Potanin Foundation scholarships. The Stavropol City Administration scholarships.

Teaching staff. All teachers hold academic degrees. The department employs two Doctors and six Candidates of Sciences, one teacher is a holder of the titles of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RF and Honored Worker of Science and Education of the Russian Academy of Natural History. The representatives of the real sector of the economy and foreign professors from Jordan and the USA are engaged in the educational program delivery.

Facilities and resources. The research and educational laboratory of environmental biogeochemistry, the REC Geological and Mineralogical Museum, the Resource Center for Aerospace and Geoinformation Technologies, lecture halls equipped with multimedia, self-access centers, and computer classrooms.

Education. Distance learning technologies, multimedia technologies, and the project method are used.

Research. The promising research areas are rational nature management in the system of regional environmental safety, landscape ecology and biodiversity, aerospace monitoring technologies for natural processes.

Competitive advantages. International professional-public accreditation. Long-term field internships. The opportunity to take a semester study placement at another Russian or foreign university. The opportunity to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees.

Employers and employment. To develop professional competencies, the learning process actively involves the representatives of the real sector of the economy – partner companies and institutions such as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Stavropol Territory, the Directorate of Special Protected Natural Areas of the Stavropol Territory, the state-financed institution of the Stavropol Territory “Stavropol Center of State Environmental Monitoring,” and others.
