Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020.
Awards and achievements. Eleven young researchers won the UMNIK contest, two staff members are the winners of the START program. The victory in the Kumir (Idol) contest, the RFBR grant. Two students are undertaking study placement at the University of Leoben (Austria) and the University of the Basque Country as part of the Ge4 program. As part of the federal project “Personnel for the Digital Economy,” the Digital Prototyping in Autodesk Inventor Environment program has been implemented. The winner of the contest for the Russian President Scholarship for young researchers and PhD students conducting advanced R&D in the priority areas of Russia’s economy modernization 2020-2023. The winner of the Student Startup contest in 2022 on the topic “Development of Online Platforms for Digital Twins and Design Process Support.”
Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 60 teachers. More than 76% hold academic degrees.
Facilities and resources. Licensed network software Nanocad Mechanics. There are computer classrooms as well as laboratories fitted with state-of-the-art equipment with CNC and benches, including a metal-cutting equipment laboratory, a metrology and instrumentation laboratory, a 3D modeling and prototyping laboratory. Education. Project-oriented teaching methods are widely used in the educational process. NCFU created a favorable environment for effective preparation of the university team for participation in WorldSkills championships of cross-industry professions. Integrated graduation theses are done. As part of employer-sponsored training, the Signal plant provides personal scholarships for students with guaranteed employment. Research. The research areas are surface hardening of machine parts and tools, modernization of CAD systems, the Materials Reliability and Strength Center.
Competitive advantages. Specialist in Machinery Manufacturing Technologies is listed among the top 50 sought-after professions in the labor market. Students undertake internships at the top machine-building enterprises with subsequent employment.
Strategic partners. Most of the research is applied research, students study under employersponsored education agreements, partners’ scholarship programs are implemented, graduation theses are done on requests of enterprises. The partners are the Signal radio manufacturing plant of Stavropol, Elektroavtomatika, Atlant Plant, Stavropol Tool Plant, Excalibur-SK, Montazh, MetallStroyMontazh, Combine Plant Rostselmash, Neptun, Avtokranservis, Energomera, and others.
