Awards and achievements. Students participate in and win the contests for grants and the Russian President and the Russian Government scholarships, take part in interuniversity programs of startup acceleration, compete in the contests for grants to support research as part of the UMNIK program, speak at international conferences every year, have honorary diplomas from the International Society of Automation ISA, get the opportunity to achieve an honorary title of the Student of the Year in the Best in Engineering Creativity category.
Teaching staff. The department staff includes seven Professors, 17 Associate Professors, three Assistant Professors, two Assistants. Over 90% of teachers at the department hold academic degrees. Both young researchers and representatives of top industrial enterprises in Saint Petersburg are engaged in the teaching process.
Facilities and resources. To create new creative solutions, the Institute of Fundamental Training and Technological Innovations uses the SUAI Boiling Point urban space that holds students’ scientific debates, startup and project brainstorming, conferences and master classes organized by the teachers at the department. Students have access to the space of the laboratory of additive technologies and lean quality for engineering implementation of projects. The educational process also involves laboratories such as the computing laboratory and the laboratory of ecology and technosphere safety, which allows the university to achieve all advantages of the practice-oriented approach.
Competitive advantages. Organization and participation in annual conferences and Olympiads – “Modeling and Situational Quality Management of Complex Systems,” the All-Russian Student Olympiad in Modeling and Situational Quality Management of Complex Engineering Systems, the All-Russian Student Olympiad “Standardization. Metrology. Quality,” the All-Russian Student Olympiad on Theory of Inventive Problem Solving.
Education. Bachelor and Master students pursue full-time studies. The learning process allows students to use heuristic tools in actual practice of deployment and implementation of prototypes, new products, development and design of a production batch, novelty structuring, foresights and marketing analysis of innovations or new products. Strategic partners. The university cooperates with top organizations such as Avangard, Power Machines, Electroapparat Joint-Stock Company of High-Voltage Equipment.
