Achievements and awards. Graduates are Ministers of Railway Transport, Vice-Governors of St. Petersburg, scientists, inventors, design engineers. Students hold scholarships of the RF President, the RF Government, the SPb Government, CEO – Chairman of the Executive Board of RZD JSC.
Teaching staff. The program is implemented by over 116 teachers (over 75% have an academic degree) including members of expert, coordination, science and technology, dissertation councils under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the RF, the Ministry of Transport of the RF, RZD JSC, heads of transport and logistics companies, VNIIZHT JSC, and other research and design organizations. The scientists from Latvia, Poland, Finland are invited to deliver lectures.
Facilities and resources. The unique training and laboratory facilities: the Training Center for Railway Traffic Control, the Center for Transportation and Logistics Technologies, the Transportation Security Center and multimodal transport systems.
Research. Application of AI and CAL on railway transport; simulation modeling of transportation systems performance, production processes in logistics; substantiation of a stage-by-stage approach to the development of railway stations and junctions; development of risk-oriented evaluation methods for field operation indicators; design of specialized railway lines stations; enhancement of railway transport competitiveness in passenger transportation.
Education. 210 years of educational traditions; multimedia technologies, state-of-the-art laboratory equipment; supplementary education programs; author's classes of top companies.

International projects and programs. 124 cooperation agreements with foreign academic partners, Erasmus+, the European Diploma Supplement, study placements, international EU projects (CETTRA, DETTRA, LogOnTrain, LogNet, Rail Baltica Growth Corridor Russia), double degree programs with Saimaa University of Applied Sciences and Beijing Jiaotong University.
Competitive advantages. 8 dormitories, a gym, a swimming pool, a clinic and a geological facility; specialized sports clubs and artistic collectives, a fine arts studio, the KVN; 12 student production brigades, volunteering; financial assistance for students: enhanced scholarships, grants. Over 97% of students undertake internships and get employed at major enterprises.
