Achievements and awards. Students hold scholarships of the RF President, the RF Government, the SPb Government, CEO – Chairman of the Executive Board of RZD JSC.
Teaching staff. The program is implemented by over 74 teachers (over 81% have an academic degree) including members of expert, coordination, science and technology, dissertation councils under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the RF, the Ministry of Transport of the RF, RZD JSC, heads and specialists of research organizations, academicians of the ITA.
Facilities and resources. 22 research laboratories, 9 testing centers, 2 innovative enterprises, a unique working model of the traction energy system.
Research. The leading scientific school “Transport Communications;” basic research in theory of controllable discrete systems construction; development of recommendations for reducing the specific power consumption of high-speed electric trains; Internet of Things (IoT) and next-generation communication networks as a basis for developing digital railway; conceptual framework for developing intelligent control systems for service communication networks as part of the high-speed running control system; development of a special mathematical support module as part of the integrated communication networks monitoring and control system for intelligent decision making support for performance monitoring of operational telecommunication networks.
Education. Pedagogical technologies: split-level education, research methods, the lecture and seminar credit system, gaming technologies, ICT and health saving technologies, the innovative evaluation system “Portfolio.”
Strategic partners. Over 400 enterprises: Siemens AG, National Instruments, RZD JSC, High-Speed Rail Lines OJSC, VNIIZHT JSC, NIIAS JSC, Radiovionika, St. Petersburg Metro, INTEX, etc.
International projects and programs. 124 cooperation agreements with foreign academic partners, Erasmus+, the European Diploma Supplement, double degree programs, study placements. The teachers deliver training courses in state-of-the-art ICT in Nanjing, China.
Competitive advantages. 8 dormitories, a gym, a swimming pool, a clinic and a geological facility; specialized sports clubs, artistic collectives, a fine arts studio, the KVN; 12 student production brigades, volunteering; financial assistance for students: enhanced scholarships, grants, etc. Over 97% of students undertake internships and get employed at major enterprises.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. Pre-university training for foreign citizens (applicants), summer/winter schools, a comfortable learning and living environment for foreign students.
