Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020.

Awards and achievements. Over the last five year, the department has implemented eight RFBR grants to study virtual network structures, protest movements, and other areas. Bachelor students take an active part in grants and self-supporting studies. 

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 32 teachers. Over 93% hold academic degrees of Candidates and Doctors of Sciences. The teaching staff includes two Professors from Heidelberg University (Germany).

Facilities and resources. NCFU has all the required facilities and resources, including equipment for focus groups, computer programs for data analysis SPSS, Orange, and others.

Education. Classes are conducted offline and online on the BigBlueButton platform and in the LMS Moodle system. State-of-the-art technologies, including distance technologies such as workshops, case study, e-learning, interactive research internships, project implementation, etc. are used in the educational process.

Research is based on Social Network Analysis methodology as well as agent-based modeling of social processes, social media analytics, analysis of virtual network users’ content. The research theme are “Study of Socio-Economic Infrastructure Rural Settlements of East Regions of the Stavropol Territory” (the Ministry of Regional Development, World Bank), “Evaluation of Quality and Satisfaction with State Budgetary Services” (the Ministry of Finance of the Stavropol Territory), “Monitoring of Socio-political Activity of Stavropol
Population” (Stavropol City Duma), “Stavropol Population’s Attitude towards Corruption” (Stavropol City Administration), “Sociological Analysis of the Labor Market of Managerial Human Resources” (the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Stavropol Territory).

Competitive advantages. The use of modern methods of data discovery, processing and analysis (network analysis, Big Data), engagement in sociological research on the real sector of the economy starting from the first year of study.

Employers and employment. The university cooperates with regional authorities and top regional enterprises such as the Ministry of Finance of the Stavropol Territory, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Stavropol Territory, the Directorate of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography in the Stavropol Territory, the Ministry of Social Protection of the Stavropol Territory, the Stavropol City Administration, Arnest, Culture and Recreation Parks.
