Achievements and awards. The program was recognized as the agrarian education leader by the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Centre for Public Accreditation as part of the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.
The certified quality management system is successfully implemented.
Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 85.7%.
The faculty employs Doctors of Sciences (16.3%), Honored Science Worker of the RF, Academician of the International Academy of Ecology B.L. Belkin. All teachers have discipline-related education. Representatives of specialized organizations are also engaged in the teaching process.
Facilities and resources. The faculty has chemical, anatomical, physiological and microbiological laboratories with unique equipment, state-of-the-art instrumental and production facilities; the innovative research testing center with state-of-the-art analytical equipment for high-level biochemical, immunologic, molecular genetic, cytogenetic, cytologic and histologic studies, for efficient diagnosis of animal health state, for monitoring the quality of feeds and animal products.
Research. The promising research areas: development of the method of submerged cultivation of an anthracoid microbe and the method of producing anthrax bacterin based on it, prevention and treatment of cattle claw diseases using new drug products, efficient use of biologically active additives and probiotic products in milk production technology, scientific principles of evaluating the quality of milk.
Education. State-of-the-art educational technologies, multimedia equipment are used. Students have access to the electronic educational environment, modern professional databases and information reference systems.
Strategic partners. HEIs of the Central Federal District and other regions of Russia; the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Orel Region, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance for the Orel and Kursk regions, Red Star, Bryansk Meat Company, Miratorg, the Orel Regional Veterinary Center, the Central Research and Methodological Veterinary Laboratory (the Orel branch), etc.
International projects and programs. The university maintains partnership relations with HEIs of Europe, East Asia and North America, participates in programs and projects: Erasmus+, DAAD, Fulbright, APOLLO e.V., LOGO e.V., DEULA-Nienburg, Cargill, PRAXX, agriLIDA, Agrimpuls, GeTec – Solutions, REYE Gmbh.
