Accreditation. State accreditation.

Awards and achievements. Every year students win the Ecology Olympiads, the regional contest of youth innovation teams, and the Nizhny Novgorod Session of Young Scientists. The NNGASU research area “Ecology and Environmental Remedial Action” is one of the key areas at the Research and Education Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region “Technoplatforma 2035.”

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by highly qualified practicing teachers, including Doctors of Sciences and Candidates of Sciences. More than 80% of the teachers of the department hold academic degrees and titles. The teachers of the department are experts of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor), the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor) and laureates of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Environmental Protection Award.

Learning outcomes. The faculty trains highly qualified competitive ecologists who help maintain a balance between the needs of progress in science and technology and biosphere preservation.

Facilities and resources. State-of-the-art laboratory equipment and modern software as well as cutting-edge educational technologies are used in the educational process.

Research. The university scientists have a high publication activity, conduct basic and applied research, take part in all-Russian and international conferences and seminars and grant activities, and are authors of patents.

Competitive advantages. In-depth study of applied ecology and environmental design issues; practice-oriented approach in teaching, extramural internships and seminars; a unique curriculum that includes both fundamental theoretical disciplines and practical applied disciplines ensuring a high level of training and adaptation of graduates to their professional activities and career development.

Graduates work at the top environmental organizations in the region and Russia, government authorities, regulatory authorities, at industrial enterprises, design organizations, major corporations, including Rosprirodnadzor, the Ministry of Ecology, the Ministry of Urban Planning and Agglomeration Development, the Federal Agency for Mineral Resources, the Federal Agency of Water Resources, Gazprom Transgaz Nizhny Novgorod, Russian Railways, Transneft Upper Volga, Ekopromproekt, Atomstroyeksport, Ekologiya Regiona, the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics, and NizhNovEkologiya.
