Accreditation. State accreditation.
Awards and achievements. Students majoring in Information Systems and Technologies get personal scholarships from the Russian President and the Russian Government on a regular basis.
Teaching staff. More than 60% of full-time lecturers at the degree-granting department hold academic degrees. The representatives of top IT enterprises are engaged in teaching most major disciplines.
Learning outcomes. The knowledge and skills, acquired while studying major disciplines, help Bachelor’s graduates develop, modify and support modern software. Master’s graduates are capable of providing overall direction and control over development, testing and introduction of software, in particular, using cross-cutting digital subtechnologies of artificial intelligence.
Facilities and resources. Laboratory work is done in modern computer classrooms as well as at the digital transformation center equipped with sets of VR glasses and powerful gaming laptops. In the near future, the degree-granting department is planning to open a laboratory of artificial intelligence in construction.
Research. Every year, students participate in international and all-Russian research conferences and win prizes at student research paper contests. In cooperation with the teachers, they develop software with subsequent execution of certificates of state registration of computer programs both as part of research conducted by the department and for solving the university’s internal tasks (for example, a mobile application and a web service to provide schedules for students and teachers).
Competitive advantages. Cooperation with key partners (the Teploobmennik Production Design Corporation and the Burbon company) and industrial work placement facilities (the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics, Sberbank of Russia, Neoflex Consulting, and others) makes graduates aware of the latest IT trends and gain hands-on work experience, putting their knowledge and skills into practice.
Career prospects and employment. All graduates are employed. They study, develop, introduce and support information systems at such companies as SBERBANK, Afrikantov Experimental Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering, Greenatom, Inter RAO – Electric Power Plants, JSC, Gazprom transgaz Nizhny Novgorod, GAZ, Nizhny Novgorod Plant of the 70th Anniversary of Victory, Russian Railways, Rostelecom, and others. The salary is twice as much as the average salary in the region.
