Landscape Architecture
Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation (the National Center for Public Accreditation). International accreditation (the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating IAAR).
Awards and achievements. Every year, students obtain first place diplomas at the All-Russian Contest of Graduation Theses in Landscape Architecture. In 2023, the students of the department obtained a first place diploma of the All-Russian Festival “Campus & Tempus;” prize-winner diplomas of the 7th All-Russian Contest “Modern City Development Drivers;” a first place diploma of the All-Russian Contest of Innovative Landscape Design Projects “We Live in Russia,” a first place diploma of the 9th International Student Contest of Architecture and Construction Projects Steel2Real'24.
Teaching staff. The programs are delivered by seven departments that employ highly qualified teachers, including Professors, Doctors of Sciences and Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors. The institute’s teaching staff members take an active part in grant and practical activities.
Learning outcomes. Students learn how to design and build landscape architecture objects, manage landscape architecture objects; work with protected areas, cultural heritage sites; gardening on artificial substructures, rooftop gardening; develop landscaping and flower decoration projects, work in ornamental plant nurseries; monitor the state of landscape architecture objects, and carry out cadastral registration of plantings.
Facilities and resources. Specialized classrooms, modern educational and research laboratories, training workshops, an electric installation range, a production and training center, and an demonstration and exhibition area.
Research. During 2022, four applications were supported by the Russian Science Foundation and the Krasnoyarsk Territorial Science Foundation. Students take an active part in research. They participate in regional, all-Russian and international research conferences and forums every year and publish articles with their research findings in co-authorship with their supervisors.
Competitive advantages. The department trains multi-skilled specialists capable of working in any field of activities related to landscape architecture and landscape construction.
Career prospects and employment. Graduates work in municipal and district government, at state and private design organizations, landscape companies and architectural offices in Nizhny Novgorod, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, and other Russian cities, in ornamental plant nurseries and garden centers, in the Nikitsky Botanigal Garden (Yalta, Crimea).
