Pharmacy

Accreditation. Professional–public accreditation in 2021.

Awards and achievements. In 2023, the program was recognized as one of the best educational programs of innovative Russia.

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 19 departments that employ highly qualified teachers, including Professors, Doctors of Sciences and Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors. Eighty-five teachers out of 126 hold academic degrees or titles, and 17 are Doctors of Sciences, including the laureates of the Russian Government Award, Honored Workers of Higher Education, and Honored Doctors of the Russian Federation.

Learning outcomes. Modern educational models and technologies are used in the learning process. The faculty implements an educational and career guidance project jointly with the pharmaceutical enterprises.

Facilities and resources. The practical training facilities are the top pharmaceutical organizations in the city of Voronezh. The leading simulation technologies are used at the multidisciplinary accreditation and simulation center. There is a training pharmacy and a university sports and fitness center.

Research. Each department has student scientific societies and science clubs. Every year around 30% of students conduct research. They participate in publishing articles and speaking at conferences at different levels.

Research areas:

• Monitoring of antimicrobial resistance and rational antimicrobial therapy for urinary tract infections;
• Identification of adverse reactions to some drug products and their pharmacological correction;
• Study of pharmacological effects of known and new biologically active substances with antioxidant properties;
• Development of compositions and pharmaceutical manufacturing technology using natural raw materials.

Competitive advantages. The faculty trains multi-skilled specialists —these are specialists sought after by pharmacy organizations, in pharmaceutical production, pharmacovigilance, clinical laboratory diagnostics, etc.

Career prospects  and employment. The practical training facilities are the Voronezh Center for Quality Assurance and Certification of Medicinal Products, the State Enterprise of the Voronezh Region “Voronezhfarmatsiya,” the Lipetskfarmatsiya regional state unitary enterprise, Health City Company Group, Family Pharmacy, the Vita pharmaceutical company, Materia Medica Holding, Rafarma, Servier, and others.

Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy have the opportunity to undertake an internship at Harbin Medical University in China.

The faculty graduates are employed by pharmacy organizations, health and pharmaceutical service authorities, the regional Center for Quality Assurance and Certification of Medicinal Products, major Russian and foreign pharmaceutical companies, pharmaceutical enterprises manufacturing drug products, and scientific and educational organizations.
