General Medicine (in English)

Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation (the Medical League of Russia).

Awards and achievements. Every year, students win regional, all-Russian and international Olympiads and participate in research conferences. Students successfully get their degrees recognized at the Medical Council of India (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) and in other countries.

Teaching staff. Training is provided at 46 departments. The educational program 31.05.01 General Medicine in English is delivered by 65 Doctors of Sciences and more than 200 Candidates of Sciences.

Learning outcomes. Students master universal and general professional competencies and acquire a skill of performing a critical analysis of problem-based situations based on the system approach and a skill of developing an action strategy.

Facilities and resources include five educational buildings, five student dormitories, laboratory facilities with state-of-the-art equipment; computer classrooms with internet access, the library with a stock of 700,000 items of academic and scientific literature, the dental outpatient clinic, the children’s clinical hospital, and the sports and fitness center.

Research is conducted as part of internships “Study management and presentation of research findings in experimental and clinical studies,” “Statistical processing of research findings.” The university maintains cooperation with major scientific centers in China, Belarus, and Uzbekistan.

Competitive advantages. The program is taught in English during the entire period of study in the multicultural environment (700 international students from India, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Guinea-Bissau, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Moldova, Nigeria, Portugal, Sudan, Tunisia, etc). Individualization of the learning process using unique socio-cultural adaptation practices; academic mobility; international projects; international students’ participation in cultural and sports events. IIMEC’s main objective is to train highly qualified specialists capable of working internationally.

Career prospects and employment. The university cooperates with intermediary companies providing legal support and preparing graduates of Russian medical universities for the exam to get their qualifications recognized in foreign states.
