Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020.

Awards and achievements. Every year students take part in the UMNIK contest to support commercially-driven science and technology projects of young researchers. They are participants and winners of the Klyuchavto scholarship program.

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 50 teachers. More than 70% hold an academic degree of Candidate or Doctor of Sciences.

Facilities and resources. State-of-the-art information and technical teaching aids, specialized laboratories with required modern benches and other equipment for laboratory work on all disciplines studied as part of the program.

Education. E-learning resources and elements of distance learning technologies are actively used. This program aims to provide practice-oriented training. Students have the opportunity to do integrated graduation theses on request of the enterprises of the sector jointly with students pursuing other educational programs. As a member of the International Association for Automotive and Road Engineering Education, the department provides assistance to international students in Russia, career guidance for foreign citizens to study at NCFU, takes part in all-Russian and international conferences on training motor transport specialists.

Research. The department conducts research in the following areas: road traffic engineering and improvement; diagnostic systems for assessing technical condition of transport; reliability on transport; research on wear resistance in abrasive environments of various materials, operating elements of machines, interface parts, equipment components.

Competitive advantages. Students undertake internships at top regional auto-transport enterprises such as KLYUCHAVTO Company Group, Avtokranservis, Auto Service Center, the Kraytrans Stavropol Municipal Unitary Trolleybus Enterprise, Arsenal Station, Dvaris Motors, the Telecom-S installation and engineering department, Avtodom Plus, GEDEON-MOTORS, Stavropol-Avto, Rus-Avto.

Students have the opportunity to pursue continuing education programs such as Engine Transport Vehicle Engineering Control and Diagnostics Expert; Transport Logistics; Car Technical Condition Inspector.
