Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.

Awards and achievements. Students are winners and laureates of all-Russian research and creative contests, holders of the Russian President scholarships and the scholarships from the Committee for Science and Higher Education of Saint Petersburg.

Teaching staff. The degree-granting department employs 15 teachers, including four Doctors of Engineering Sciences and ten Candidates of Engineering Sciences. Among the teachers are Honored Workers of Higher Education.

Facilities and resources. The department classrooms are fitted with multimedia equipment for giving lectures. Specialized laboratories – the laboratory of digital signal processing and digital circuit engineering, the laboratory of analogous circuit engineering and radio
receiving equipment, the laboratory of radio engineering systems, and a computer classroom – are fitted with state-of-the-art latest-generation computing and control and measuring equipment, mock-up models and specialized laboratory benches.

Education. Students pursue full-time and extramural studies. From the very beginning each Bachelor student starts doing the work that provides groundwork for a Master’s thesis. The educational program for junior students provides alignment to reach the required level. For senior students, the program provides for an individual approach related to the acquisition of the competencies required to prepare for a Master’s thesis. The practical part of the program provides for familiarization with the equipment and software used at the top radio
engineering enterprises.

Research. Every year Bachelors and Masters take part in international and all-Russian research conferences and contests. Research is conducted both under supervision of the department staff and on themes and requests of specialized enterprises. The research
topics are radar data processing algorithms, image processing and classification algorithms, airborne radio engineering systems, radio engineering systems of unmanned aerial vehicles, radio navigation systems of different configurations, digital communications and radio engineering 5G, and others.

Competitive advantages. The content of the educational program is based on the current professional standards, which allows the university to train competent specialists having fundamental scientific and practical background in the field of radio engineering systems.

Employers and employment. The rate of graduates employed in their degree field is 100 %. Among the employer enterprises are Research Institute of Systems Engineering (Leninets), All-Russian Research Institute of Radio Equipment, Granit Central Research Institute, KONTUR-NIIRS, Peleng, and others.
