Awards and achievements. Every year future Bachelors participate in Olympiads and frequently become prize-winners in individual and team events. They are actively engaged in the department’s research, publish their research findings and speak at science and technology conferences. This experience allows them to successfully pursue Master’s and PhD programs.
Teaching staff. The department employs highly qualified specialists, Doctors and Candidates of Sciences, research fellows at research institutes and specialized organizations who have unique knowledge, skills and experience in the development of hardware, algorithms and software for bioengineering systems, in biomechanical modeling, and research.
Facilities and resources. To develop and consolidate practical skills in the development of hardware, algorithms and software for bioengineering systems, students use technical resources of the department’s specialized laboratories fitted with a set of control and measuring equipment, special multichannel systems for signal recording, rapid prototyping benches, and special software.
Education. The department trains specialists such as developers of medical devices, their blocks and nodes, software; engineers for management and technical support of medical equipment stock for healthcare organizations; medical equipment maintenance and repair specialists. These areas determine the philosophy and methodology of the program.
Research. With active involvement of students, the department conducts research in the following areas: location and movement monitoring systems, in particular, for individual motor units; modeling of human movement and movement of individual organs in the normal conditions, in pathologies, and in prosthetics, and other areas.
