Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.
Awards and achievements. Bachelor’s students take an active part in the championships held by the Skills Development Agency in the FutureSkills competencies in the Space System Engineering category. They have gold, silver and bronze medals of champions in 2018-2021. In 2021, the department staff team won the industry-specific digital technology accelerator held by the Roscosmos State Space Corporation and the Skolkovo Foundation. In 2021, the steering document of the Airborne Intelligent Avionics Systems discipline designed by the department won the contest of study programs to develop digitalization. The contest was organized by the Ministry for Digital Development of the Russian Federation. The department staff has been participating in the international space project BRAIA since October 2020, and it has been a member of the international union UNISEC developing student-made microsatellites since May 2011.
Teaching staff. More than 70% of the teachers hold academic degrees and (or) academic titles. The department employs one Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation, two Honored Workers of Russian Higher Education, and three existing members of the international non-governmental organization Academy of Navigation and Motion Control. The representatives of employing enterprises are also engaged in the learning process.
Facilities and resources. The educational and research laboratory of space systems engineering for new space experiments. The new laboratory of design and development of small spacecraft.
Education. The department staff actively works with the youth creative teams helping implement development projects and startups, and ensures students’ participation in prestigious contests, conferences, and grants. This allows for student internships at the world’s best aerospace centers. While studying, Bachelor’s students have the opportunity to pass a demonstration exam in the Space Systems Engineering competency and obtain a competency passport
Strategic partners. The International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) and its aerospace chapter IFAC Aerospace, top research and production and instrument engineering enterprises in Saint Petersburg.
Research. The research areas are group interaction of aircraft in heterogeneous groups; high-precision self-contained navigation and computer vision system guidance; intelligent instrumentation systems; integrated flight systems for light and ultralight aircraft; automated equipment status monitoring, failure prediction and reconfiguration.
Employers and employment. The employers are Concern CSRI Elektropribor, ELCUS Electronic Company, the Radar MMS research and production enterprise, Radioavionika, Zaslon.
