Teaching staff. The degree-granting departments employ highly qualified specialists, including ten Professors, Doctors of Sciences, 12 Associate Professors, Candidates of Sciences, as well as Senior Teachers, Assistants, and dual jobholders from among employees of specialized enterprises and organizations.
Facilities and resources. In partnership with ILIM Group, the Russian forest industry leader, as part of the largest innovative project Larch, the Department of Cellulose and Composite Materials Technology established unique laboratory facilities for academic and research activities with fundamentally new technology infrastructure.
Research. Chemistry of organophosphorus compounds and plant-derived organic compounds, synthesis of macromolecular compounds to be used as flocculants and precipitation agents for different purposes as part of the import substitution program, production of polymeric nanocomposite materials and investigation of their properties, creation of biodegradable composite materials based on added-value wood processing products, development of high-quality chalk-coated paper production using hardwood pulp, system analysis of the formation of aluminum-containing sewage pollutions at manufacturing sites.

Enterprises: ILIM Group, pulp and paper mills of Svetogorsk, Kondopoga, Balakhna, Kama, Bratsk, Sukhonsky, and others, the Saint Petersburg Cardboard and Printing Mill, the Vyborg Pulp and Paper Mill, numerous paper mills, including Goznak, as well as Russian and foreign firms, construction, design, and research organizations.
