Preventive Medicine
Accreditation. State accreditation. International accreditation (the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating IAAR).
Awards and achievements. The program has been recognized many times as one of the best educational programs of innovative Russia.
Students take an active part and win in major all-Russian contests, Olympiads, and conferences, carry out product projects in preventive medicine and participate in the development of disease prevention technologies.
Teaching staff. The educational program is delivered by experienced teachers involved in modern prevention technologies. The teaching staff includes 97 Doctors of Sciences, 271 Candidates of Sciences, including an Academician of the RAS, a Professor of the RAS, Honored Science Workers of the RF, Honored Workers of Higher Education of the RF, Honored Doctors of the RF, laureates of the Russian National Award and the Russian Government Award as well as the teachers who are current heads of professional organizations.
Learning outcomes. Implementation of preventive activities, health improvement and reduction of morbidity of various diseases. Students gain prevention competencies contributing to the development of the health industry in the modern healthcare system.
Facilities and resources. Competencies are developed during practice-oriented classes in six educational buildings, the university clinics, at healthcare institutions, Rospotrebnadzor agencies and organizations as well as the educational and research laboratory of molecular biology, the scientific and educational practical center of genetic and laboratory research, and the federal accreditation center of SamSMU.
Research. Thanks to cross-cutting R&D modules, every student carries out R&D in their future professional field.

Graduates are sought after by the organizations of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing), medical organizations, research institutes and laboratories as physicians specializing in general hygiene, epidemiology, clinical laboratory diagnostics, medical microbiology, virology, and in other professions.
